Greatest Hits - Swedish Meatballs and Jansson's Temptation


*Swedish ingredients available at IKEA Swedish Food Markets

5 -6 Idaho Baking Potatoes
2 yellow Onions, thinly sliced
100 gr. tin Ansjovis Fillets (including liquid)*
4 tbsp butter
2 cups heavy cream
6-8 crushed IKEA Toasted Rolls, whole meal*
IKEA Meatballs*
IKEA Lingonberry preserves*


Peel the potatoes and cut them into match-stick-sized strips, submerge them in cold water. Sauté the onions gently in the butter until transparent. Strain and dry the potatoes. Arrange alternate layers of potato, “Ansjovis” including the liquid and onions in a greased, oven-proof dish, beginning and ending with a layer of potato. Pour the cream on top and add a few chunks of butter. Sprinkle with crushed IKEA Toasted Rolls. Bake in a 300˚ preheated oven for about 1- 1 ½ hours.
